I'd like a coat that feels like wearing a duvet

Although perhaps doesn't look like it! I bought this gilet a couple of years ago from FatFace and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately they don't quite do the same version with sleeves, I'm not keen on the one they have because it doesn't have a hood and it's also not fluffy lined, so I have to look elsewhere.
Has anyone seen anything? I have around £100 to spend and would ideally like black!

I have a craghoppers coat that is a total (windproof and waterproof) duvet.

BoogieFeet · 28/12/2017 22:10

I bought my ‘duvet coat’ from Seasalt a couple of years ago. It’s very warm and cosy, waterproof and goes down to my knees. Don’t know if they still do it, but maybe worth a look. (Also have a fat face gilet that I love )

Cumberlover76 · 28/12/2017 22:14

Oooh I've just ordered the Fat Face gilet in the sale (in 3 colours from various shops so I can decide which I like best!) I have also just had this coat for Christmas but got it for about £100 with a bit of shopping around. It's lush and so cosy but very light. It's been great in the snow.

MrsKnightley · 28/12/2017 22:29

I got my coat from Long Tall Sally but the company is the Duvet Coat Company.

InvisibleKittenAttack · 29/12/2017 08:47

Uniqlo has some! I resisted the urge to get a white one with a fluffy hood before Christmas as I felt like I was in the East17 Stay Another Day video. But they had other colours!!

TK Maxx usually has lots of duvet coats , I think they're stuffed with down. So cosy Smile

Maccapacca88 · 29/12/2017 08:59

I got a Michael Kors one from TK Maxx. It's synthetic down and feels fairly thin (like a summer duvet), but is really warm. It's so comfortable, not restrictive at all and lovely and squishy soft.

Patagonia nano puff

I have a Joules one bought a few years ago. It feels like a duvet without being too bulky. Best hood ever that stays up in the wind and properly covers the head. Navy. I love it.

passthecremeeggs · 29/12/2017 09:04

It's pretty much this one although mine isn't made anymore

I got one in mountain warehouse, reduced for 150 to 60. Hood, really light, showerproof and so warm.

Eyesshut · 29/12/2017 09:16

Another vote for Joules. I got mine on a second hand website and three years on it's still going strong. I love that it is a bit fitted and not too bulky.

I also love jack wolfskin as linked above. I have an iceguard which I've worn to death but can't give up on.

North Face Metropolis parka but it's £££ the Uniqlo Stretch Down Parka is very good budget version.

StephenKatz · 29/12/2017 19:05

Oh God I need that pink sleeping bag monstrosity in my life!! 😂

Thank you guys, I have some furious Googling to do. Are Uniqlo true to size? I'm an 8-10 usually but it depends on the shop!

Just seen one in Matalan.

davidbyrneswhitesuit · 29/12/2017 19:09

Uniqlo here too. They're magnificently cosy Grin Sizing is quite generous - I'm usually 8 - 10, and XS is ample for me.

exexpat · 29/12/2017 19:15

I got mine for £25 in the Monki sale earlier this year - a bit like this one (currently £65): www.monki.com/en_gbp/clothing/coats-and-jackets/product.puff-coat-black-magic.0409206001.html Incredibly warm.

For better quality and waterproof, I'd go for Uniqlo.

I bought a total dream one just like this (down with soft teddy fleece lined hood ) from Esprit (it was in a shop, £90)

With a belt, it is a dream to wear and I love it
