Are they just called g-strings? Would you use the term high-cut? I feel that means something different but I could be wrong. I am very ignorant as normally I just shop by sight in M&S.

Tanga if a brief. Quite hard to come by. I think Very do a cheapie cotton multi pack. Amazons new underwear brand do a sportier tanga style brief.

Tanga is if there is a triangle of material at the back that does cover some of the cheeks but with just thin straps at the sides

Thong if there’s no cheek coverage but the strap between butt cheeks gets thicker at the top

G string if it’s really just a string. I think. Or maybe thong and g string is interchangeable.
