Best hair straighteners

My hair straighteners are quite old and just don't seem to work like they used to, I'm thinking they're not heating hot enough. My hair looks crap without them so I end up wearing a messy bun most days to save too much heat damage.
Any straightener recommendations that aren't too pricey? Thank you.

I would suggest GHD. They might cost a bit more but last a long time. I fell in to trap of buying cheap ones and they just broke constantly and cost more in long run.

The reviews of GHDS sold in the last 5 years are awful - not as good and often break (company was sold)

There are a couple of threads in here with recommendations- just can't remember off the top of my head!!

My hairdresser recommended cloud nine straighteners and they're really good, similar prices to ghd straighteners

Bechetdiagnosed · 26/12/2017 22:42

Diva. Great price too!

Cloud 9 or carioliss c3 or was it C2

All the people raving GHD had much older ones that were still going strong rather than newer ones!

fridaykitten · 26/12/2017 22:47

I thought ghd as I had some about 13 years ago that were amazing for their 9 year life but had heard more recent poor reviews. Thank you for suggestions, I shall have a look at these.

Be very careful with cloud 9s. Hairdressers are on commission to recommend them to people who previously/usually use GHDs. They can get very hot, meaning more damage to hair.

Even with GHDs not being as great as previously, there is still nothing that works as well if you have thick hair.

I have pro keratin therapy ceramic hair straighteners. Brilliant.

Linzilou1985 · 26/12/2017 23:10

On my cloud 9s you can adjust the temperature to what you'd like.

I have naturally curly hair that goes very frizzy. I will only use GHD's as k firmly believe nothing else would work on my hair.

Steam Pod. I cried the first time I used it. Blush

My hairdresser also uses Diva straighteners and got me some from her warehouse.
The heat is adjustable and they weren’t too expensive.
I’ve been really pleased with them and had them last Christmas.

SHE straighteners are the same as GHD but half the price. Would recommend.
