Any favourite recipes for some home made treats, like body exfoliators etc? With not too many ingredients and non-complicated.

I use coffee grinds with olive oil as a scrub

Cleanser/make-up remover - mix 3 tbs of coconut oil with one tsp of raw honey and one tsp bicarbonate of soda. It really works!

I make my own moisturiser as well- a bit more complicated but well worth the effort.

Toothpaste: Bicarbonate soda, coconut oil, with a few drops of mint oil (food flavouring), it was ok, I think I put too much bicarb in though. I just use coconut oil as a body moisturiser and almond oil on my face.

I made a my own version of Lush's 'angels on bare skin' face scrub, which was basically clay powder, crushed almonds for exfoliation and a few other ingredients.

If you have a favourite product, you could search online to see if there something similar.

Olive oil and granulated sugar for a body scrub. You can add essential oils.

Face scrub - basic moisturiser and granulated sugar, again you can add essential oils.

Shaving solution - baby oil and shower gel. Shake it up and it's great for shaving legs etc. It will separate so you need to shake it up each time.

Conditioner: stick an avocado in a blender with some coconut milk and whizz it about for a bit. Make sure you apply it to dry hair, and then shampoo it out after about half an hour.

Coconut oil can be used in place of olive oil in most combinations. I also saturate my hair in either olive oil or coconut oil (when it's dry) and leave it on for an hour before shampooing it out.

Isn't there a danger of coffee grounds/crushed nuts blocking the plug hole/drains?

Wouldn't it be better to use sugar or salt which dissolves?

How long do Home made items last - do you just make enough for one use, or can you store it in the fridge for multiple uses?

I make my own clay face mask by mixing fullers earth powder with water, simple yet effective. Nothing clears congested skin like it. Sometimes I mix it in water that has a dispersible aspirin in it for the salicylic properties. Leave it on long enough for it to dry but not crack.
