Suggestions for DD makeup

She recently received a makeup kit and now she is obsessed. I guess I'm happy, I just don't know where to start.

She is 10 years old, nearly 11

What exactly do you mean? Do you want tips on how to apply? Or tips of other brands to buy?

As an experienced makeup user, I'm sure I will be able to help her to apply it. Yes, what I mean is what type of makeup I should consider for a girl of her age.

Make up revolution make up from Superdrug. Got a fantastic eyeshadow palette for £4!! It's so cheap so she can buys lots and smear it everywhere

None. Because she is 10. Why would you be encouraging a 10 year old to wear make up

I agree with Snowman. Let her play with what she’s got. But I wouldn’t actively encourage a child that age to wear makeup. That should wait till 14 or 15.

I got my 10 year old daughter the Soph palette from makeup revolution for Christmas and she was delighted. She likes NYX stuff as well at the cheaper end of the spectrum. Xx

I too would suggest make up revolution and MUA and brands of that ilk. Anything fun, in fashion and best of all cheap!

You are asking for suggestions on what to buy her. That IS absolutely encouraging her.

I think it's up to the op to decide if her daughter wears make up, she was asking for help not to be judged!

We've agreed that she is going to buy it with her Christmas money.

Don't encourage a 10yo to wear make up IS help. It's not what the OP wants to hear clearly, but it was advice all the same.

My DD is 10 and all her friends wear make up and put it on each other.
They do not of course wear it on a daily basis to school they just have it at home to muck about with and experiment on each other esp for school events or parties.

Some of them are experts at applying makeup because they are in dance shows etc so they help the others learn how to apply it.

My DD has stuff from make up revolution mainly, such as large eyeshadow palettes and lip gloss. She applies it very subtlety and uses colours that suit, you can barely notice she's wearing it when it's applied, and of course wears glitter when there's a party involved.

Next year she will start secondary school so I'm glad she knows what she's doing make up wise already.

You don't delay growing up by withholding make up when it is being asked for...you just make a big deal out of a small issue.
