Anyone heading to the Next sale?

Up and ready to go. Anyone else going?
DH doesn't understand why I put myself through it but hoping to get a coat for myself and clothes for 3 DC. He just doesn't understand how much we save.

He sees it as look at how much you have spent. Probably because some maybe half of it doesn't get worn!!!

Well if you don't wear it, it's a waste isn't it?

Battleax · 26/12/2017 06:02

So he's right.

Snipples · 26/12/2017 06:21

Yep going shortly for some baby bargains. Good luck!

EssentialHummus · 26/12/2017 06:36

So it’s 50% off but you don’t wear half anyway? Does anyone else see what I see?!

Salene · 26/12/2017 06:39

It’s starts on line earlier why not just buy it over internet from comfort of your livingroom..? I never understand why people don’t just do that

badabing36 · 26/12/2017 06:42

If you enjoy it do it, but be a bit more selective this year, try not to get caught up in bargain fever. Someone told me if you don't absolutely love it, don't buy it.

Battleax · 26/12/2017 06:42

I couldn't possibly comment essential. I have a feeling anyone posting sense is about to come in for the "you big mean bitches" treatment 😉

silkybear · 26/12/2017 06:49

when I worked in retail there was nothing more depressing than hearing from the security team that people were queuing for the next sale at 3am on xmas night with their kids in the freezing cold. felt so sad for those children especially in the age of the internet, there is no need to haul them out of bed to buy last seasons old crap. what a way to spend christmas Sad

Battleax · 26/12/2017 06:58

People take their DC!? At 3am? Shock

pixelchick10 · 26/12/2017 07:07

I used to go - not worth it imo now as there are good deals onljne in the run-up to Christmas and on Xmas day itself - I’d prefer to get a lie-in!

JoyceDivision · 26/12/2017 07:13

Bonkers. Queueing to buy shite, a lot of it inferior quality stock made for the purpose of bulking the sale rails.

I used to go, years ago, to see what the hype was about. Watching women lift armfuls of clothes from teh racks without checkig what they had picked up, to bulk purchase and return what they didn't need later or go to a corner and sift through items..... just bonkers!

blueskyinmarch · 26/12/2017 07:37

I am sure the Next sale would have been in one of Dante's circles of hell had he known about them. Can't imagine for one second why anyone would want to get up early on Boxing day to go to one. I plan to spend the day in my pyjamas!

Arronsmissus · 26/12/2017 07:43

Im off to the sales later snd im certainly avoiding Next. Il take theback roads into town and avoid the queuing into town which goes pass Next.

Quality of their clothes is awful

10thingsIhateAboutTheDailyMail · 26/12/2017 07:51

But it is tat? Worse quality than Primark?!

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 26/12/2017 07:54

The Next sale used to be properly good. About 20 years ago. The quality of their clothes was good and the sale was genuinely the stuff that had been on the shop floor until Christmas, half price or better. And you couldn't buy online. I used to work there and saw some boggling sights in that sale.

Now though I'm not sure any of that applies. I guess it's still a tradition. But if you're buying clothes that go unworn, it's not a sensible way to spend money!

ImAMarshmellow · 26/12/2017 07:55

Anyone queuing up for this?

Anyone heading to the Next sale?
purpleviolet1 · 26/12/2017 07:57

First time for me... queuing to pay. Bought stuff for 9 month old and boots for myself plus some pampering sets which make great gifts throughout the year Grin pleased with my bargains. Live less than a mile from flagship store so thought I better come..

Mrswinkler · 26/12/2017 08:17

Is that coat from the bedding department?

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/12/2017 08:22

It doesn't matter where you shop, if you don't wear half of it it's a massive waste.

If you buy half price but only wear half your effectively paying full price.

PNGirl · 26/12/2017 08:41

It's all the stuff they make for the outlet stores. The nice stuff goes away in the stockroom!

TillyVonMilly · 26/12/2017 09:00

Fear of missing out, is what drives many people, that and greed. I’ve a friend who works for Next and she hates sale time. People grabbing arms full of stuff which will either be returned three days later or end up on Ebay. I’m all for getting a bargain but buying twice the amount you need at half the price doesn’t quite seem like a bargain to me. Confused

Toomanycats99 · 26/12/2017 09:39

The online sale can be good if you can the first vip slot. I got my daughter some half price converse that I had been looking at and a few other bits and pieces. I also use it to stock up on jeans / slippers / trainers for my dd. Before I have got loads superdry etc that can be great value. I never go in the shops Boxing Day but someone times Day after and may pick up the odd top or something that I have seen for dd. Never usually see anything for myself in store. Just loads of the same style of horrible top usually!

JaceLancs · 26/12/2017 12:01

No
Mainly because I can’t ever find anything I like in there

noenergy · 26/12/2017 12:02

Didn't get much, just a few tops. Not my normal bagfuls. Didn't seem to be much for DC and the crowds were suffocating.

No I wouldn't take my DC with me but I did hear someone child screaming a high pitch squeal for ages.
