I need a lipliner to match this lipstick

Hoping you guys can help. I bought my first ever lipstick a few weeks ago and it's wonderful. But it bleeds. I have been told a lipliner would help. But I can't find the right shade.
Can anyone help? Photos of the case coming up, I'm not sure what brand lippy it is but I bought it from boots..

And here is a blurry cropped photo of the lippy on. Please be kind. You may think it doesn't suit and i know my skin is likely to be viewed as a mess by anyone who looks after their skin, but I really like the lipstick colour.

You can get colourless lip liners:
www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/make-up/lips/lip-liner-fixer/p/p000003
^ This bodyshop one is good

Kissisforpirate · 23/12/2017 19:26

Oh wow. Are you meant to just line your lips or colour the whole lip in?
Thank you.

It works like normal lip liner: just line your lips then apply lipstick (with a brush is sometimes better thean putting it straight on).

Have a look on YouTube. There are all sorts of lipstick technique videos on there, including reviews of that bodyshop liner.

The brand is Collection. It's a fab colour but your application is quite messy. A lip liner will definitely help with that Smile.

I'd recommend popping into Boots/Superdrug, bring the lipstick with you and and have a swatch-fest.

These might work:

Sleek: Currant
Collection: Damson
Rimmel: Black Tulip

Kissisforpirate · 23/12/2017 19:41

You are both wonderful!
Yeah the application was amess. I tried and tried to get it neat but it wasn't working.

The darker the colour, the harder it is tbh.

If you line your lips with a pencil then fill in with lipstick applied with a lip brush, you'll get a much nearer, more crisp result.

And it doesn't have to be a perfect colour match, just close enough so there aren't two obviously different colours going on.

Get a little lip brush to put the lipstick on with - will help wonders with your application and dark colours are hard to apply straight from the bullet.

KungFuEric · 23/12/2017 19:53

Yeah you can fill in the whole lip with the lip liner, makes it last longer.

Don't use the lipstick itself as an applicator as you'll apply too much product at once, use a very fine eye/lip brush to add what you need.

It's a whole new world! Thanks all.

Barry M do a few wine/burgundy lip liners that would work with that colour

Mulberrysilk · 23/12/2017 22:19

Good pick. The colour is lovely on you.
A lip brush will help a lot.

zippyswife · 23/12/2017 23:41

That’s a great colour! And you have lovely full lips too.
