Feel ridiculously sad. Celine gave me something to aspire to. (Slightly more achievable than world peace or a cure for sadness ...)

Ho hum.

Ooh where is she going?

onemouseplace · 22/12/2017 15:31

Oh - I'm sad as well. I've loved the Celine aesthetic under her, and I know exactly what you mean about having something to aspire to.

Gruach · 22/12/2017 15:36

Haven't seen any announcements regarding a new position.

Oh dear. I'm sighing as someone who threw away the most stupendously lovely Alexander McQueen trousers (the only thing if his I owned) shortly before he died.

This is old news, but I understand the pain, I've mourned it too. Although I do think there's a bit of positivity in it, Celine has always been frighteningly expensive it would be nice to see her either under her own brand or another with a slightly more accessible price point or with an already established diffusion brand.

Gruach · 22/12/2017 15:51

'Tisn't official till Vogue announces it.

I dunno botemp - there are a billion accessible brands available ... The Celine stuff was always such a revelation in the flesh - I rather felt that the craft and materials were their own justification, regardless of the fact that only a handful of people could actually buy the things. Surely her talents would be wasted just doing what anyone else could do?

Nah, the rest just copies her, it's not something anyone can just do so even if she were hired by M&S (ha!) she'd deliver something truly different, surely?

I enjoyed her work just as much when she ran Chloe (slightly cheaper than Celine), which was when the younger sister brand See by Chloe was in its golden era through her influence (rather than the sad reminder it is these days). But, yes, I do agree that there should still be something unattainable out there (for most of us) that is just about displaying what can be done, regardless of the price tag.

I love her so much I named my daughter after her!

I think the rumour is she's going to Burberry when Christopher Bailey leaves

queenofarles · 22/12/2017 19:42

I think She is replaced by Clare weight Keller who was Chloe's head designer

Nettletheelf · 22/12/2017 23:13

She is totally going to Burberry.

JanetStWalker · 22/12/2017 23:21

I remember when she was at Chloe .
