Why is my face suddenly so sensitive?

The last couple of days my face has been stinging even without using my usual toner, serums routine just my moisturiser, does anyone know why and what I can do? Is it the cold weather, my lips have been dry? the stinging lasts a few minutes after I put on my moisturiser (same one I've been using for 20 odd years). Face isn't red or blotchy thank goodness, Google hasn't been much help.
Thanks.

I don't know how old you are, but it might be that you are starting the menopause. I had some quite drastic changes in my skin when I started my menopause, and I had to change or abandon certain skin care products that I had always used in the past.

I think it’s the cold weather - my skin has been dry/flaky and sensitive here and there. The colder weather just makes it a bit unpredictable. I would book in with your GP to see what they suggest though

This happened to my skin, I had to ditch all my Hirons type products and go back to basics. LRP Toleraine is a lovey moisturiser than didn't upset my skin. In fact my skin looks better now than when I was using all the acids and serums.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions, very helpful.

I'm 46 hoping it's not the menopause and maybe just the weather :( argh!

Fwiw.. Thought I'd update as I've often found things useful when googling using mumsnet.

Well, I went to the pharmacy who suggested diprobase cream (yes the one dc use!) and omg my skin is much better, no more stinging.
Basically my skin was super dry & the diprobase has rehydrated my skin and it also feels & looks fresher, cost less than a fiver too! Smile
