Hair advice please

I have fine, flat hair. I use rollers and fab hair products and can blow it out quite bouncy & voluminous.

I can’t for the life of me figure out how women tie their hair in a ponytail/bun and have it still look gorgeous when they let it out - my hair looks flat and lifeless after. If I put it in a ponytail, it leaves a dent where the hair band was. If I have it in a bun and take it down, my hair is flat against my head and all volume gone.

I see my friends take their hair down and still have it look thick, gorgeous and voluminous - essentially looking how it did before they put it up.

Am I missing something? Is it a certain hair bobble brand or technique? Or just something that comes with practise?

I have similar hair and a similar predicament. Things hat have helped but are not really miracles are dry shampoo - especially the communising one, and the spiral hair grips so that I can hold a bun in place really securely without a bobble. It means I get lovely lose waves for a gorgeous 20 mins or so before I go back to normal

*volumising not communist or whatever
