Soften an eye pencil

Wise Mumsnetters, Is there any way to permanently soften my Dr. Hauscka eye pencil. It drags the delicate skin around the eye.
You'd think Dr.Hauscka would know this. Thanks in advance.

I put my gel eyeliner pots in the microwave so this might work to soften a pencil too

I've given mine a quick blast with the hairdryer, needs to be done on every use though.
