Want to get DTDs some as they look highly practical for children...but can't convince DP that I should spend £40 on shoes for them

Are threre any probs with the Pumpkin Patch/Next alternatives?

Are there any other alternatives I should know about?

All I would say is that Crocs are made from a special resin and the Next and PP ones maybe just plastic.

They are a much more restricted colour range in Next aren't they (red or pink I think)....

£40 is a lot of money...

I saw some by Sketchers I think, they were only £10. Again its the material - not sure if its the same.

expatinscotland · 22/04/2007 20:38

Order them from the US if you know someone there. Or ask a US based MNer to accept them for you and then pay them postage.

With the dollar down, the real things are ssoooo cheap just now.

DD has the Next ones and no cmplaints from us, very comfy and stay on her feet well.

SlightlyMadSecret · 23/04/2007 23:04

Well we had a look at teh pumpkin patch ones - and I see what you mean about them looking 'cheap'. You could see the injection mould lines...

But I was impressed - they we sooo lightweight. I thought they would be heavy like they were made of solid jellybean type plastic but they felt more liek polystyrene.

Couldn't seem to get any that fit them properly though. So we came away empty handed.

Pumpkin Patch ones fine here - I have real ones, and they feel just the same to me, seem to be made of prety much the same stuff. Think there are about 6 diff colours in PP.

The kiddies ones aren't £40- the adult ones are £30 and the kiddie ones are about £20
