Want to get DTDs some as they look highly practical for children...but can't convince DP that I should spend £40 on shoes for them

Are threre any probs with the Pumpkin Patch/Next alternatives?

Are there any other alternatives I should know about?

I got the Next ones for DD! and sent them back. They looked like they had the potential to fall apart very quickly. I got her some real ones instead.

HEIFERcrochater · 24/04/2007 08:41

To the rescue MamaG

Jump on - were out of here

Help, I thought real Crocs were bad enough - but Fake ones.... NO way...

UtterPigsty · 24/04/2007 08:58

KathyMCMLXXII · 24/04/2007 12:19

Saw some in a beach shop for £7 but they only had them in yellow.

heiferCROChater · 24/04/2007 13:21

heiferCROCloather · 24/04/2007 14:09

WelshBoris · 24/04/2007 15:02

Right, my DD is 2 and is a size 7.

She has seen the evil plastic things and has fallen in love.

Where can I get teeny tiny ones?

I'm not starting a new thread because if I saw one more croc in active convos I think my head will blow up.

Here she goes again. CLD being in cuckoo land and not knowing what a croc is link anyone? Pretty please

WelshBoris · 24/04/2007 15:08

Crocs

ScottishThistle · 24/04/2007 15:10

Bought my charge the NEXT lookalikes yesterday for £6, very nice & will do what they're needed for for summer!

What is this snobbery about re real or lookalikes!

WelshBoris, they start in very small sizes in NEXT though they're selling like hotcakes!

WelshBoris · 24/04/2007 15:11

The website say they start from 1, but DD is a 7 which is smaller than a 1

If that makes sense

heiferCROCloather · 24/04/2007 15:14

Oh dear WB... Nothing worse when you really dislike something but then your DC go and put you on the spot and want them!

I am covering my DDs eyes up whenever we come across some...

crazylazydaisy · 24/04/2007 15:14

Oh I see, upgraded (poncey) jelly shoes

Thanks for the link welshboris

SlightlyMadSecret · 24/04/2007 17:21

They are not just poncy Jelly beans, the material is soooo different it is unbelievable. I was shocked at how they felt.

Pixiefish - they are £40 if you have 2 pairs to buy ....

I have to say I don't particularly like them but they do look soooo practicle for kids.

That said I wouldn't encourage boys to wear them over the age of 3 1/2-4,a nI think girls can only get away with them until about 10ish....

I would never be seen dead in them I'm afraid....although they do look v comfy in RL .

Crocs are like the Emperors New Clothes. Have you ever seen anyone wear them and they HONESTLY look nice???

If you want to buy the real ones, you may have some trouble. Everyone is buying them and there is a shortage. A lot of websitess don't tell you that they don't actually have them in stock and let you order anyway. Look at www.lookatmycrazyshoes.com as they are really good and tell you what is actually in stock and what is on back order. They also deliver really quickly. They do come in small sizes for little kids.

And on that subject, I have to totally disagree with the idea that they can only be worn by really little kids. Both my ds have them and my oldest is almost 6. I have them and my dh has some on order.

In my neck of the woods (central londo) you can't go out without seeing loads of them on adults and children. They are incredibly comfortable and lightweight and practical.

And you know what? I really counldn't care less what anyone else thinks about what I put on my feet! (sticks my tounge out and runs away!)

DO NOT order from FFatshoesday whatever you do!!!

I ordered from them a couple of weeks ago and it was a disaster. Their site shows stock which they do not actually have. It was only when I chased them about the order thaty they actually admitted to it. Then they said they would send out the two pairs (out of 4) that I had ordered which they did have. It never turned up even though it was sent recorded. And they gave me a tracking number that did not exist. And whenever I called and spoke to the guy who owns the company he kept going on about how hard it was to run two companies!!

The website I listed below (Look at my crazy shoes dot com) has excellent service and is honest!

bundle · 24/04/2007 18:01

me & dd2 have fake ones (£5 each from next and peacocks), dd1 has "real" ones (£20) and there is no difference apart from where the holes are

That may be true hattick, but at the moment their website is showing stock that they do not actually hold and when you order they are not telling you this. So if you want to order crocs to wear anytime soon, I would not order from them.

To be fair, this is true of many websites at the moment. When we had the problems with them, we started looking for other places to buy and I actually called loads of the companies to make sure they actually had stock. Many did not.
