Stylish and warm? Is that a thing?!

After some advice. Not foot with fashion. I need some new clothes that are 'stylish' but also warm! I'm struggling with cold weather but none of my outfits are that great. I keep reverting back to same knitted jumper and jeans.

I am a size 12 block sort of frame. 5'5''. Bigger in the bottom so baggy jumpers look awful. Where can I look to get some new stuff??! Want casual as well as a few pieces that are nice for going out with freezing my ass off! Haha! Any help?!

Not sure, but I go with layers. Uniqlo merino jumpers make brilliant vests!

Agree with layers. Today I wore a Uniqlo heat-tech long-sleeved top, a chiffon leopard print blouse over it, then a black crew neck jumper on top, with cropped black jeans and Chelsea boots. The jeans are slightly flared, so I wore knee-length crocheted socks for the boot/jean gap, plus proper ankle socks. Because the layers - other than the jeans - were thin, I didn’t look bulky, and I was warm even in my freezing work. Those Uniqlo tops are my saviour!

Cashmere. Have a look at Pure Cashmere, White Company and M&S for a close fitting cashmere mini dress. Looks good with tights, leggings and jeans and keeps your bum warm.

I also wear a vest under a blouse to keep warm. And I've got some winter lined woollen trousers for work.

For more casual occasions, I love 'cuddly jumpers' - big knitted things out of wool and cashmere.

Soft thin layers underneath your usual clothes with a warm scarf and coat on top
I wear M and S soft thermal vests etc under every thing.

I like the old ones rather than the new thermal fabrics.
Bamboo vests, socks from bamboo.co.uk are beautiful to wear.
Make sure your feet are warm.
Feet, head and hands and then all is good.
A beautiful fashionable warm scarf also keeps you warm .

I'm short and a size 12 so avoid bulky jumpers. I wear thermal t shirts with thin tops on top.
I wear hats to keep me warm and give me some height.
My best buy this year is a maroon Mango belted coat - warm and slimming.

My office is freezing, so I've learned a few tips recently:

  • thermal vests. Make sure they're long enough to tuck in securely, not leaving any gaps.
  • layers
  • scarves. Even a thin cotton scarf looped around your neck will make a big difference.
