Patterned or Plain if you are Plus Size

OK I am venturing into wearing dresses with leggings/tights and boots this winter (may be frumpsville but trust me a vast improvement on my baggy batwing tops and wideleg clowntrousers)

I am purchasing dresses but I am not sure if I should seek out patterns or plain ones. I'm very tall and very plus size and I find plain a bit boring tbh but do you think patterns can look a bit OTT on the large of nork and arse? Are there certain patterns to be avoided? I like florals but some positively scream old lady whilst others look pretty and feminine, I am flummoxed so any advice?

Definitely plains. What is your budget?

Not a lot! Am hoping to pick up some more stuff in the Jan sales, am currently perusing dresses online.

Plain rather than patterned at every size imo!
