I have a newborn DS so can't attend both this year Grin

Who has the better deals? Boxing Day or first day of January sales? I know it can differ but I mean in general.

Thanks all Thanks

Which shops do you like? A lot of online sales have started already and you can shop from the comfort of your home. I predict there will be biggish discounts before we even get to Christmas, as retailers are trying to avoid reporting bad sales figures. Don't wait until Jan!

I'm not a fan of Boxing Day sales; it's mostly shite left over with questionable marks on.

The online sales are usually in full swing by now; Karen Millen are usually decent, as are John Lewis for brands.

I would mostly be looking for baby clothes/fashion.

Also looking for a nice new quilt.

I didn't think sales would be on now, purely because it's a big time to shop. I didn't think retailers would put prices down at a time they could potentially make even more from people Blush

The only shop I know not to start their sale pre-xmas is Jigsaw and that is usually end of Jan.

Nearly everywhere else have been running offers since the Black Friday weekend and the sales proper have been really getting going this week.

OP, you need to get with it and sign up for email notifications for your favourite shops so you know this!! Which shops in particular are you interested in?

Boxing Day . I pop into John Lewis and Zara at around 8 and done by 9 ( for babies and kids clothing - I do mine online around midnight on Boxing Day ). The pre sales aren't as good as the actual Boxing Day sales and the January sales is what's left over so very limited for choice .

Black Friday has forced retailers into a corner. Everyone buys loads of stuff over Cyber weekend (Black Fri to Cyber Monday and the rest of that week) and then buys absolutely nothing until Boxing Day in case their item goes into the sale. Most clothing brands aren't bought as presents so December isn't what it used to be.

Boxing Day is better for sales. Anyone who waits til January really waits (like Hush) until later that month.

Stay at home boxing day. It's the only way to show retailers that it's unfair and unnecessary to not give their staff a short Christmas break.
