So I seem to have been having a massive problem with my eyeliner and mascara ending up all over my face despite claiming to be waterproof and I desperately need help choosing something that doesn't do this.
I end up with massive smudges everywhere, spider legs from my lashes on my brow just below my eyebrows and just generally looking terrible.
I'm a contact lens wearer if that makes a difference.
Can anyone help? It's pretty embarrassing when I go and look in the mirror and realise I've been chatting to someone for hours with this look going on!

I’m a big fan of the Avon glimmer stick eyeliners, you can get them off amazon for under £3.

Also the rimmel waterproof pencil is really good, very black and stays put.

Thank you. Will try the rimmel one as won't have enough time to get the Avon one before I need it.

Anyone for any good mascaras?

I always go for babydoll YSL - not cheap but I think it's the best as it doesn't smudge and it adds real volume.

I recently got a mascara from La Roche Posay It's really good and seems to stay in place. I've read that KIKO have good eyeliners.

Do not try the Urban Decay liquid eyeliner - it's a nightmare for transferring (I also have hooded eyes). Shame as it's really great otherwise.

The Stila marker pen style eyeliner is good. I use the NYX waterproof mascara and it is brilliant, stays where it is and is better than Clinique/Benefit but less than half the price.

Clinique quick eyes eyeliner are truly budge proof and I have very oily eyelids. Lots of lovely colours too. Mascara wise, I use rimmel wonderfull or benefit roller lash and both stay put. I am also a lens wearer.

I can't recommend an eyeliner as I don't use it, but the best mascara I've found, and always go back to, is Max Factor Masterpiece, the regular one in the gold tube, not the waterproof one. In spite of not being a waterproof foundation, it doesn't melt or smudge. And I've tried loads over the years from Chanel to Clinique.

AnaViaSalamanca · 12/12/2017 09:20

A lot of times when your marcara and liner end up all over the place your concealer and other products you put around your eye area are to blame, as the dissolve the waterproof products. So I would say check this first. Apart from that I recommend stila liner and bobbi brown no smudge or sensai mascara.

MrsSchadenfreude · 12/12/2017 09:22

Another vote for Max Factor Masterpiece, and also a Kiko waterproof one was pretty good.

A very light dusting of powder under my eyes on top of my conceler helps me avoid smudges, when I remember! And also allowing eye cream and moisturiser to properly sink in before applying it. I use a waterproof Lancôme one which also seems to help.

AdidasGirl · 12/12/2017 09:33

I have Hooded lids too.

I use YSL Faux Lash Mascara.

Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner.

These are my 'Go To' favourites as I have tried virtually everything else.

wildbuttercup · 12/12/2017 10:45

Clinique pretty easy eyeliner is absolutely the best. Really easy to apply and stays put! Also I've had mine for ages and it shows no signs of running out.
I use Lancôme definicils mascara which I love, it doesn't smudge under your eyes which always used to happen to me with other mascaras and it's really non-clumpy and good for length and definition.
Both aren't cheap but defo worth it. I've spent way more money trying out cheaper brands and then having to throw them away because they were rubbish.
