I’m looking for a warm waterproof long coat and I’ve come across the Janelle by Seasalt, I know nothing about them,is it any good? I’m a size 14, are they true to size and ok with a jumper underneath? It’s for walking the dogs and I’m fed up of wet legs so want a longer coat Smile thanks

I've not had mine long but it's had a few outings in heavy rain and today's fecking freezing and, so far, it's kept me dry and snug. Like you, I prefer the longer length (what's the point of a bad weather coat that ends mid thigh?) and it has a bit of shaping at the waist too.

I would say it's pretty true to size - snug but not masses of room for extra layers. If in doubt, I'd size up rather than down.

yes agree - had mine 3 years and generally I survive all dog walks warm and dry - would like it a bit longer than knee length but other than that I think it a good coat .. I found them true to size

Thanks both Xmas Grin I might size up so I can get a good jumper underneath, hate feeling constricted. I’m 5ft 4 so the length should be long enough for me. I’ve got a decent berghaus but it’s only short and as it mainly rains horizontally here, my legs get cold and wet Xmas Hmm think I’ll get one ordered today

I am a big fan of mine. It would be the absolute perfect coat if the pockets were a little bigger but this is a very minor gripe for an otherwise excellent and properly warm, waterproof coat!

AmethystMoon · 11/12/2017 12:08

Love mine! Go for it. Xmas Grin
Mines three years old and looks like new. Great length and warm too and properly waterproof.
True to size but often wish I’d sized up for big jumpers.

i have this! fits tts i would say. honestly when i bought it i wasn't sure about it. my OH made some remark Hmm (I'm only 5'3 so it is longer on me than on model) but i left it at my mum's last week so i was janelle-less for a few days and my god i missed it!!

Judydreamsofhorses · 11/12/2017 21:43

I bought this in the John Lewis sale. I agree with the previous posters that it’s fab in terms of waterproof-ness, but I think it comes up big. I would normally buy a 12 in coats but mine is a 10.

TillyVonMilly · 11/12/2017 21:45

Right then! I’m going to order it, I’m just trying to decide which colour, sometimes I could do without choice Grin

Has anyone bought the Seasalt Plant Hunter coat? I was wondering how it compares to the Janelle with regards to warmth and sizing. I don’t have a Seasslt anywhere near me so I can’t easily pop in and try them both on.

TillyVonMilly · 19/12/2017 22:27

Sorry .Bendy Grin
I do like my new coat Grin
