What makeup counter to go to for a makeover?

Basically I'm 27 and I haven't worn makeup since I was 17 (stopped as i started dating my now ex-husband who didn't like me wearing makeup).

I would like to start wearing some, but haven't a clue where to start. So I thought it would help to go to a makeup counter in Debenhams, for a makeover. I went in but realised I have absolutely no idea how good different brands are or which counter would be best for me.

I want a more subtle makeup - the kind that just makes you look like you have naturally flawless skin and helps accentuate cheek bones, rather than looking like you've plastered your face in makeup including heavy eye make up.

So which counter should I go to?

It's a lot to do with whoever is working on the counter (ie the make up artist) than the brand itself, but Bare minerals, Bobbi Brown and Mac are fab products IMO.

Sounds like you might like Bare Minerals, its easy to apply & all feels very light to wear too, which will be a bonus if you are not used to make up
