Has anyone hand washed a Bella Freud jumper?

I just looked at the label and it says dry clean only. Xmas Shock

I really don’t want to ruin this, my most expensive jumper. But I also want to wear it tomorrow!

I have. I put it through the cold woollens cycle of my washing machine, using Woolite or similar.

Dried flat, reshaped while damp.

It was fine.

Yes, they hand wash fine as in they don't shrink if you wash them cold, but I warn you in the long term the quality is shocking for a £300 jumper. After a few washes mine bobbled and fuzzed, they are no better made than something for £30 on the high st.

I've had a Bella Freud jumper for ages but have never washed it bleurgh - I hardly ever wear it as so worried about ruining it!
