Where do the men in your life buy work shirts from? Good ones, nice fit, nice colours (works in a bank in the City). Not designer budget, but not really cheap. Thanks!

DH buys his work shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt, or from Van Heusen, and sometimes from Lands End. All available online. He also has the odd John Lewis own brand work shirt.

I second Charles Tyrwhitt, good fit, good quality & good prices. Get on the mailing list & they send you discount codes about 6 times a year.

Thanks both. I’ll try Charles Tyrwhitt

Oh and if you buy from Lands End you can send them back and get a full refund any time if you're not happy. They do great discounts too.

Charles Tyrwitt and Thomas Pink.
CT often have an offer of 4 for £100 and TP do good sales.

Thisismynewname123 · 07/12/2017 20:40

Thanks. I’m going to check them all out tomorrow.
Does anyone know if any of them do longer arm lengths than others?

Tesco GrinGrin

Fairylea · 07/12/2017 20:47

In all seriousness Tesco ones have been as nice as more expensive ones he’s had...!

NisekoWhistler · 07/12/2017 20:51

My husband has his tailor made by a tailors in Hong king £50 a shirt including delivery within less than 3 weeks.

Well worth investing in having your own tailor

Polyanthus · 07/12/2017 20:53

Charles tyrwitt do a variety of sleeve lengths so fit my 6ft 4 dh fine. There are also tall ranges at Lands End and M&S but dh gets most shirts from Charles tyrwitt.

CMOTDibbler · 07/12/2017 20:58

My DH is 6'3 and wears Charles Tyrwhitt too

PaxUniversalis · 07/12/2017 21:04

NisekoWhistler - interesting. DH looked into a HK tailor once, but for a suit not a shirt. He then decided not to pursue it as he wasn't sure if it was legit. I didn't know they do shirts too.
So do you just send your measurements and your money to the tailor and they send you the finished product?

NisekoWhistler · 07/12/2017 23:24

DH uses Lee Baron, i would just give them a call and see what they say. They are extremely reliable. I'd suggest that perhaps he sends measurements, then gets one shirt made and go from there.
Postage from HK to UK is super cheap.
