Please help me with my bra size!

I don’t have one bra that fits nicely. I’ve tried bra intervention and it used to work so well but since dc3 I don’t know why the measurements don’t work for me.

I measure 34 around under the bust. I have bras from cup size F to GG and they don’t fit! 34 is so tight around my waist I’ve bought the extra bands to make them wider. The cups are either too tight, cause my boobs to push together causing rashes in between or they rub up under my armpits.

Please help me! I’m going on holiday in January and I need some nice fitting bras that keep everything up and firmly in place. Maybe some minimisers too.

Check your measurements under the bust and over the bust (when leaning forward) - as per: thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html.

If you do measure 34" under the bust, then a 34 band shouldn't be too tight. If the cups are too small then they may be "stealing" fabric from the band which will make the bra overall feel too tight.

You might need a different size/style/make or all 3! Balconette, plunge, full cup etc suit different people. Makes can fit very differently (eg Panache tends to come up quite high under the armpits).

You could try a 34" bra on backwards to check if the band does fit (this avoids a wrong cup size interfering with the fitting of the band).

I just tried 34 backwards and it really digs into my fat rolls . I’ve put on a lot of weight around my back in the last year and incidentally have back fat.

My measurement leaning forward is 113cm and 89cm under the bust.

I can’t wear under wires because they dig into my muffin top when I sit down. I sound so glamorous!!

I’ve just worked out I’m a 36DD now . I feel much bigger than a DD. When I used that website 5m Ago I was a 34GG.

I feel your pain! BUT I don't think you've got that size right. In inches, I make your measurements approx 35" under and 44.5" over. That would make 34GG/H or 36G/GG as your starting point.

If you can, I'd order a few different styles in those sizes and see what works. Not always the cheapest, but I have found Bravissimo good on the phone for helping with what styles might work. Don't forget to "scoop" as described in that link, it really does make a difference to how it fits and the back fat!

Sometimes it's the styles, bravissimo gave me loads to try on & some were really sore after 5 minutes.

I must have tried 15-20 bras on that day.

Oh yes, wrong calculations! So 34GG and G definitely are not a good fit as they’re the ones I have to use a band with. Will try 34H and 36G/GG. Ugh. I hate this! I don’t feel comfortable going into a shop to bare my ugly boobs and back fat to the poor assistant. I’ll order some online or pop into M&S and try some on.

Definitely less stressful to try on at home! I believe M&S sizing can be a bit random though, so just be careful with that. Hope you find something, without too much stress.

I got my bras! I tried 34H which was way too tight. 36G fits perfectly. My breasts are up to my chin . I got a total support non wired one and 2 minimisers. The wire on the minimisers dig a bit when I sit down but that’s just my fat and not the problem of the bra or fit. I wore them for 7 hours yesterday and no problems! Yay!
