Best foundation for ageing skin

Hi I'm 33, combo skin dry and oily in places, early signs of aging around eyes. I use double wear but I've realised it makes me look haggard under my eyes!

I'd like to know if there is a Foundation out there that lasts a long time but won't looks cakey and get sucked into my pores and fine lines.

The new Bare Minerals liquid one think it’s liquid pro . I’m your age and my skin is beginning to look horrid and it really seems to cover up all the lines etc plus lasts forever .

I'm 47 and love Boot's No.7 lift and luminate.

Watching as I have the same problem. I also bought double wear and had the same issue under my eyes

Liz Earle is fabulous. Never cakes and makes my skin look younger not actually older.

The new YSL All Hours one is a gorgeous texture. Very very flattering on my late 30’s skin. I use a primer and a very light dusting of powder on my tzone as I’m a bit oily there and it lasts very well on me without being heavy or cakey at all. You can get a sample from a YSL counter. It feels very lightweight but good coverage and nice finish.

Another vote for Liz Earle. Glides on and doesn't settle into pores or lines. Lovely light dewy effect which is very natural looking.

Double wear has heavy formulation. I would say try the nars sheer glow or nars all day luminous foundation-- the all day luminous you only need to apply very little and it goes a long way.

Otherwise maybe a tinted moisturuser and use concealer on areas you would like more coverage.

And always moisturise or use a primer

Ageing skin - you are 33! On a more serious note, try Chanel Vitalumiere or, for light coverage (over your budget though) Chantecaille tinted moisturiser. I also rate Beauty Pie for really good value foundations - about £5 but you need to pay £10 per month membership - Buttermilky is a good comparable shade for Chanel Vitalumier Clair Cameo 20 but Beauty Pie has greater choise of yellow / pink / neutral undertones where Chanel is quite yellow, I find.

I was also commenting to say, aging skin at 33??? You really REALLY haven't!

Having said that, I use both a balm moisturiser and flash beauty balm under my eldw and it makes it less drying.

I thought you were going to be 63 or 73 not 33. FGS OP! You are still a child! There is no way you have ageing skin.

There are loads and loads of foundations out there for 33 yr olds.
Sounds as if all you need is to stop layering it under your eyes, use eye cream if necessary, and find a foundation that is less cakey.

Go to the Bobbi Brown counter and have a make over- they are very good - or Clinique, Clarins or Dior.

And stop thinking you are old. I am old enough to be your mum or even grandma and I don't consider my skin 'ageing'.

krisskross The Liz Earle foundation I use is called Sheer Skin Tint. Lovely stuff.

The reviews of Liz Earle sheer skin tint on Boots are bad - quite a few people saying the formulation has changed.

with foundation, it's important to get the right shade as well as the right formula.

I could use loads of foundations in terms of formula- normal skin, few blemishes, need light - medium cover.

BUT the colours are all wrong. Boots No 7 is one of the worst. The palest shade is very pink and makes my skin look grey. (Sali Hughes also rates them as pink-toned.)

Liz Earle- bought it and then returned for a refund. Palest shade too pale, next shade up far too dark.

You need to consider both OP because the wrong shade can be as ageing as the wrong formula.

I know I'm not old but my skin isn't the best. I live a very out doorsey life ( out 12hrs a day in all weathers ) and my face isn't looking great.

Are you using a high SPF every single day? I have since I was 35 and people think I am 10-15 yrs younger than I am. Use spf 30+ daily under make up or on its own 365 days a year. Bobbi Brown does a BB cream with spf 35, Clarins does a high SPF moisturiser, Clinique City Block spf 40, and Lauder does one in a blue tube spf 40.

I use warm beige in the Boots instant Radiance and its not pinky looking

The point was that all the shades are pink toned, not pink-looking. Foundations tend to come in yellow tone, neutral tone and pink tone.

Beauty Pie....if you email them with the brand/colour you use, they will advise which foundation to get.
It's one of the best I've used.
