Littlehenrylee, same as in any European capital. Like in London, Amsterdam or anywhere else, eating out regularly is a normal part of life (or made out to be as such) so there really isn't this notion of dressing up, in fact it would identify you as 'not from here' (be it class or location). They might wear something nicer for a visit to one of the Gastronomic Temples with 3 Michelin Temples as the atmosphere in those can be a tad stuffy and traditional and a sign of respect towards the Chef but even that wouldn't really qualify as dressed up.
Lesser, the Acne Jensens go well with skinnies and cigarette/slim fit too but I suppose those are difficult fits for pears too, though depends if you're a profile pear or frontal pear. I also wear them with opaques under a mini length skirt, any longer doesn't really work with me personally but I think an A-line denim skirt would work on others.
Methen, jeans sizes can be just as all over the place. The best thing to do is check the brand's own size guides on their own websites, they usually give a waist and inseam measurement. IME American brands fit large, French and Italian tend to fit small, UK can be anything, German, Dutch, and Scandinavian fits large, but Acne Studios and Cheap Monday fit small.
Codes are indeed through the newsletter which you need to sign up for, there may be a first-time order discount, not sure. UPS does deliver to your house and if you call they'll come do a pickup but I find that more hassle than picking and dropping off around the corner, sorry if that wasn't clear.
WRT the Bobbies Derbies, I find a lot of Parisians wear very beaten and worn shoes. They walk a lot and shoes like the Derbies actually improve with a bit of age to them (though those pictured were suede, perhaps not those, but leather ones would), others like the Repetto ballerinas I find looking worse with age it but I've seen many a Parisian happily walking them to death.
Splat, how are you with turtlenecks? Lucia Pica actually has a black one on under a smoking style jacket with satin contrast in that video and it works quite well. If you get a sleeveless version (if comfortable wearing that alone) it's an easy thing to wear underneath and still be somewhat in party mode without the jacket.
Methen, I'm not on FB or any forms of social media really and lovely as you all are it won't have me signing up either. Even if I were inclined I'd share no more than I'd share here so it wouldn't make a difference to me personally.
Bloomed, I've never worked in corporate environments proper, have worked with, etc. but I'm really struggling to picture a sweatshirt that would meet the grade for a meeting. It may just be me, in my environs I think the only thing that would raise an eyebrow would be assless chaps and one would only be queried whether they're not feeling the cold and sweatshirts are pretty standard workwear but none of them I would ever classify as being appropriate wear for corporate meetings (which tend to be in more traditional workplaces). Jackets with polo necks are also leaving me a bit confused, outdoor jackets or blazers? Polo neck shirts or roll neck jumpers collars as the two seem to be used interchangeably but are very different.
Splat, I didn't wake up looking like LRD but thankfully no one was there smelling my feet either
