Nice winter boots

Can some of you nice ladies help me?

I want some winter leather boots, quite chunky and cosy, maybe like biker boots or something?

Black or brown, no budget really but don't want to spend a fortune!

I can't find anything I like.☹️

I have Doc Martens Kristy, which are biker-ish. I love a boot thread Grin

Nice pair tidy!

dudsville · 30/11/2017 22:37

I've gone off biker bits but will recommend my choice. Ugg abree mini leather in the dark tan. It has a side zip so is more fitted than the house shoe styles and my feet are so cosy! They're water resistant.

Oh no dudsville the Ugg Abrees are lovely ... I feel a purchase coming on!

dudsville · 01/12/2017 18:33

I tell you, I feel guilty wearing them. How can an outdoor shoe feel so indoor!

candlefloozy · 01/12/2017 19:23

I have ugg biker boot type and they are amazing!!

TidyLike · 01/12/2017 19:34

Which bike uggs do you have candle?

candlefloozy · 02/12/2017 07:12

@TidyLike I can't remember what they were called. But they were mid calf length and brown in colour with a few buckles. I also have some short ugg boots and I've got to say they are expensive initially but always my fail safe. I've worn them for the past ten years. I still have my biker boot uggs and I had them when my dd was born four years ago and my others two years ago.

TidyLike · 02/12/2017 10:11

Ah I think I might know the ones you mean - have admired some on one of the other school mums. I have some cardi ones but went off them, although they are super warm. Hardly wore them ... might stick on eBay :)

candlefloozy · 02/12/2017 18:40

@TidyLike yeah I would. I just love mine

Ollivander84 · 02/12/2017 18:44

Ugg Wilcox are great

Jonsey79 · 02/12/2017 21:31

Just in case the link doesn't work they're Clark's Oronico Spice. They come in black, brown and grey. Very chunky and comfortable.

ASDismynormality · 02/12/2017 21:32

I have the DM Kristy boots too, love them - so comfy and easy to put on!

BagelGoesWalking · 03/12/2017 00:21

I like Clark's Orinoco too - but Orinoco Club They are just right and so comfortable. I have the black and brown. Bought a few years ago but will probably repurchase another black pair this winter as I've worn mine so much!

Tryingtogetitright · 03/12/2017 00:25

Merrell Decora Chant - sooo comfy and warm. I bought mine in the sale 3 years ago for about £60 and they're still going strong.

lazydog · 03/12/2017 00:35

Another huge fan of the Clarks Orinoco range here. They do start off a bit stiff, leather wise, but soon break in, and even when new I don't find that they rub - they just feel a bit inflexible initially: www.amazon.co.uk/Clarks-Orinoco-Leather-Boots-Black/dp/B074N6ZN8J?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Tantpoke · 03/12/2017 00:43

I have the Orinoco spice, I love them, so easy to wear and go with everything.

lazydog · 03/12/2017 00:47

My mistake!!

Mine are these ones.

My ones have a lovely fluffy 85% wool mix lining inside. Those I linked to in the previous post look like they would be the same, but I can't be sure.

My Blooms actually do me fine as my go-to Canadian winter boots until it drops below around -10C as they don't let in snow and have good grip Smile

JessieJams · 03/12/2017 00:55

I have these Uggs ... love, love, love them - warm and comfortable.

lazydog · 03/12/2017 01:12

DS1 got these Ugg men's boots at the exact same time as I got my Clarks.

His were $269 and I paid around $80.

Mine are going strong 3 years later and don't look at all worn, whereas his look like crap very shabby now, and the wool lining is worn through in places, and I've definitely worn mine more more than he has worn his.

lazydog · 03/12/2017 01:13

*far more

lazydog · 03/12/2017 01:29

Not trying to derail the thread by rambling on, but I checked and I was wrong about the price of DS's flimsy boots:

Product Subtotal: $285.00
Shipping: $45.60
Tax: $39.67
Order Total: $370.27 Shock

That's a hell of a lot of money for under 3yrs of (winter-only) wear, imho. Sad

Maybe their women's ones are better quality?
