How to un-crease my scarf

I need some MN expertise, please. DH bought me a lovely silk scarf from eBay, it's around 40" square but was sent folded down to an eighth of the size and vacuum packed. It's been lying flat on the bed all day but is still creased into loads of small squares. There's no care instructions on it (pre-owned) and I don't think my only nearby dry cleaners take unlabelled items.

How can I smooth it out without risking damaging it?

Ermm, iron it ... ?

Jaxinthebox · 30/11/2017 17:25

put a tea towel over it and iron it.

Feck sake. Put your iron on silk mode and get moving.

Just for the record OP, did ironing it not occur to you at all. Google is your friend too.

Some very tetchy people about, blame it on Christmas stress. Xmas Smile
I agree, iron it with tea towel over.

In fairness getting creases out of a silk scarf is not OP material, pardon the pun!
