I seem to remember ages ago there was a brand that many were raving about but can't for the life of me think what it is.

Who wears leather trousers or variants of? Can you recommend a make?

Is 50 too 'old' for all this malarky anyway?

Oh and I am 50.

Bloomed · 22/12/2017 12:52

Thanks expat I'll check river island.

JMAngel1 · 22/12/2017 22:48

I'm practically surgically attached to my H&M ones - they are fleece lined so very cosy and super tight. Wear in the day with slouchy jumpers and biker boots and then at night with drape tops and heels. Going to buy another pair. Can bung in washing machine at 30 then air dry,

Bloomed · 22/12/2017 22:50

Fleece lined!

Parsley1234 · 22/12/2017 22:54

You need TESCO yes really !!! £16 size comes up large they wash brilliantly and look amazing ! I bought the snakeskin ones too for £18 - 51 next bd

I'm not saying I agree with this... but I thought the general style rule was no (p)leather below the waist when you're over 30.

There are no such rules.

JMAngel1 · 23/12/2017 06:20

What? That's bonkers - never heard that and choosing not to listen to such nonsense. I am totally rocking them at 45 - I'm not saying I wear them with skin tight boob tubes - it's all about proportion and contrast. Nothing nicer imo than skin tight pleather bottoms with slouchy gorgeous knitwear, biker boots and a warm wool trench style coat.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/12/2017 07:33

Well i am wearing mine today. I have on my skinny coated biker leggings with a silk blouse and long cardigan. I am 50.
Eastlonder Think your comment is a bit provocative.

expatmigrant · 23/12/2017 08:53

Maybe eastlondonerneeds to look at that thread (lighthearted} about all the other things us oldies shouldn't be doing. Xmas Grin

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/12/2017 08:59

What are the actual legs like? I'm quite muscly and sometimes can't get my thighs in skinny trousers if there's no give. We've got a River Island and a Next where I live but they're quite small shops.

ceeveebee · 23/12/2017 09:06

I got the next ones in navy. I’m a 12 with chunky thighs (fat not muscle!!) and they fit really well and very comfortable. Probably shouldn’t wear them with my thighs but couldn’t care less!

eastlondoner · 23/12/2017 09:22

Err I said I wasn't saying I agreed with it!! Jeez relax

neveradullmoment99 · 23/12/2017 10:58

I picked up the purple coated legging/jeans from Tesco today for £7 reduced in the sale. They are a lovely muted colour.

ceeveebee · 23/12/2017 11:43

Ooh purple sounds nice - might look at those myself!

neveradullmoment99 · 23/12/2017 11:55

www.tesco.com/direct/ff-coated-mid-rise-skinny-trousers/279-6190.prd

also in navy

ceeveebee · 23/12/2017 13:06

Ah thanks, sold out online, will have a look next times I’m in store

yippyyappy · 23/12/2017 13:07

I got a pair of Spanx pleather yesterday. They. Are. Amazing. But pricey.

Bloomed · 23/12/2017 13:52

Yippy I've been looking at those, what are they like? Am looking for some leggings rather than trousers: preferably thin and not too shiny.

yippyyappy · 23/12/2017 14:01

They're quite thin. Not shiny. Feel lovely. Make me look like I'm not a fat flabby cow and I'm going to wear the for New Years. Grin

astoundedgoat · 23/12/2017 14:17

I have the Iris & Ink ones and they're brilliant. I get lots of wear out of them (slim/minimalist-trendy/39).
