Help me find a new perfume?

I absolutely love Origins Ginger Essence and have worn it for years, but it's getting more and more expensive and harder to find - costs enough now that I feel a bit of a CF for asking for it for Christmas! Does anyone know of anything else with the same lovely clean, light spicy scent?

If it helps, I do like Eau Dynamisante and Happy as well, and have a bottle of Penhaligons Lily of the Valley but I find that much too heavy (and expensive!) to wear all day at work.

I love the Origins one too but it is spendy. This is nice - it is very gingery, reminds me of proper ginger beer! www.directcosmetics.com/shop/product/68789?ref=google1711&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsfmtnIvi1wIV4hXTCh1X6wPREAQYASABEgLLnvD_BwE

Diptyque L'ombre dans l'eau is lovely, top notes of blackcurrant and rose but it actually smells sort of green and spicy. It's really grown on me. Another Diptyque is Tam DaO spicy and woody. eBay have samples but if you choose to buy direct online they send you a tester so you can smell the fragrance first and return if you don't like it.

Now that is a fab way of doing things - I've tried quite a few perfumes that smell gorgeous on other people but on me they turn into cheap vanilla essence, Parma violet with a hint of wet cat or similar - I'd definitely want to try before I buy unless it's properly cheap.

I think that's why I go for simpler scents these days, less base notes/top notes to clash in weird ways...

Fragrantica list quite a few, might give you some ideas. Roger and Gallet has been recommended on the Perfumista threads and there's soap, shower gel and body lotion as well as the perfume so you can layer.
