Best violet / colour protector shampoo for blonde hair

I had my hair done last week; my usual colour and toner - light blonde (I’m naturally blonde but much darker blonde) with a silver/blue over toner. I’d really like to protect the colour and shine for as long as possible between salon trips. I’ve used a couple of silver shampoos with ok but not amazing results, but have you wise mumsnetters any recommendations for a good one? What has worked for you?

Osmo Super Silver No Yellow I think it’s called. It’s amazing. I had my hair highlighted months ago but since I’ve been using this everyone asks me if I’ve had it lightened again recently.

Following as I have the same question!

Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes. I’ve been through lots and this one is strong enough to leave a violet tinge if you use it every time. They do the conditioner too and it’s often 3 for 2.

Thanks all Smile any more suggestions, keep them coming? Also, any other products you’d recommend for styling? My hairdresser told me to get a protein spray but I’m dubious about the benefits for the cost of it, to be honest.

The osmo one sounds good but what conditioner do you use with that? Normal or the osmo silverising as there doesn't seem to be a super silver one?

coffeekittens · 27/11/2017 21:13

Fudge clean blonde violet shampoo is amazing! I use it once a week. Redken CAT for a protein spray as well works wonders.

Protein sprays don't have to be expensive.

www.amazon.co.uk/OSMO-Dual-Action-Miracle-Repair/dp/B010B09E8M/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=beauty&keywords=osmo&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1511817106&sr=1-2

Bleaching strips hair of its protein which affects its ability to retain moisture, which is why your stylist recommended one. That's the one we use. Osmo Intensive Repair Mask is good too and has a good balance of protein and moisture and it smells divine.

They do a protein spray called Perfect 10 which gets great reviews but I found it to be a bit sticky and heavy. I get on much with the dual action miracle repair but I have fine hair, maybe on thicker hair the perfect 10 is better.

DD's overprocessed/bleached hair is only attached to her head because of Osmo and coconut oil. She uses the intensive repair mask twice a week and slathers her hair in coconut oil once a week, which she leaves on overnight. If you didn't see it wet, you'd assume her hair was strong and healthy. I think she also uses an argon oil after the miracle repair spray.

Fudge Clean Blonde is excellent. I use it once a week and it takes out the yellow and keeps the blonde highlights really bright.

I'm always asked if I have had my hair done but my last highlights are 4 months old now.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 27/11/2017 21:28

I'll second the Lee Stafford Beach Blondes. I've tried loads of others and this is by far the best for me. I've had more compliments since i started using this than ever before. Smells lovely too!

sillysausage16 · 27/11/2017 21:31

Fanola is the best I've ever used, my hairdresser recommended it

sillysausage16 · 27/11/2017 21:32

You have to wear gloves tho and don't leave it on longer than it says or you can get a purple tint, which still looks nice Grin

PhatSlag · 02/12/2017 18:18

I just use any conditioner, the shampoo does enough lightening on its own

Fosterdog123 · 02/12/2017 18:37

Agree, Fanola is very good.

SixFeetUnder · 02/12/2017 18:39

Thank you phatslag

tshirtsuntan · 02/12/2017 18:43

I like the Bleach London violet shampoo and conditioner.

WillowWeeping · 02/12/2017 18:45

This is my hair before and after using fanola no more yellow.

I put it on dry hair and leave for thirty mins it’s great
