Recommend a warm hat for winter

The time has come to consider a hat for winter.

However, I don't suit hats.

Woolly hats (with or without pompoms) just make me look gormless, ditto baseball caps (think Victoria Woods character Hayley) and brimmed hats are too formal.

I'm short, round faced, with short, greying, red hair that doesn't reach my collar.

I put a hat on over my ears and it hides all my hair. I look bald.

I've got a black woolly hat with a gigantic chenille pompom from Sainsbury's for now, but if someone can recommend a better one, I'll happily wash and donate it to a charity.

I avoid hats and wear sheepskin ear muffs. Any hat that I wear looks fine - but when I take it off my hair flies up into total chose because of static, and is like that till washed.

Get some ear muffs!

S'funny, I rarely see ear muff these days.
