Coat quandary!

I ordered a coat in the sale the other day, it arrived this morning. I like most things about it but it's got 3/4 length sleeves...am I right in thinking only short-sleeved things can go under it?
Long tops don't look quite right, and wearing gloves look daft when there's a gap of skin between the glove and the coat sleeve. Hmm

You could try long gloves, I have a few pairs. Not sure where my leather ones came from, but the cashmere ones are from Cos

I don’t understand 3/4 length sleeves on winter coats.

I've got some long cashmere gloves but they're fingerless and they don't look 'right' either.
I think I'll take the coat back, it will bug me.
