Help me dress these trousers please?

I got these trousers for work. A bit of background, I work in a special needs school where the dress code is pretty flexible. Some people wear leggings and a jumper, others wear smart trousers and a nice top/shirt. Our class generally sway towards the latter. Until now I've worn black trousers with a nice top, but I thought I'd go wild (!) and get some grey trousers instead.

The only issue is, I now have no idea what to wear with them. Help please!

A nice fine-knit jumper in a rich colour is what I would go for. Dark pink or green maybe.

Thanks Trills, I actually ordered a dark pink jumper to go with them but when it arrived it was a lot brighter than it looked online and didn't go at all.

Red, dark green, mustard or charcoal grey would all go imo.

Red would be my first choice.

Have they got some blue in them?looks like it in the picture. What colours suit you? Colours of the trousers remind me of Morandi paintings, so if you don't want to do contrast like suggested above, you could go for something in similar tones to the trousers.

Following on from Tiedie post I think a cool baby blue top or navy would look nice too.
