Gloves-help save my hands

My poor hands are already suffering in the cold weather and I’m in need of a good pair of gloves.

All previous pairs of gloves I’ve hated and not really felt they’ve kept me warm.
Any recommendations for gloves that look nice, keep your hands toasty warm and aren’t so bulky that they stop you being able to use your hands properly?

M&S leather gloves. Nice slim fit, last ages and keep your fingers toasty warm.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 24/11/2017 19:15

I'm a fan of lined leather gloves - reasonably waterproof, not too bulky, smart enough to wear to work. I currently have a couple of brightly coloured pairs from M&S.

Great minds think alike TheGirlOnTheLanding!

M&S women's wear gets a real bashing on MN. But it appears their gloves have at least two fans.

I like the colour range and the fact you can chose S, M or L.

AbiBranning · 24/11/2017 19:25

M & S in a variety of colours, I tend to get a new colour every year, but they are all still perfecly warm and smart.

Daisymay2 · 24/11/2017 19:32

Sorry- but another vote for M&S leather ones. I get cold hands ( fingers turn blue) and even my sheepskin ones were not as good! The first pair I was given have lasted about 9-10 years and are still toasty and look good!

ChesterFuckingDraws · 24/11/2017 19:51

Really? Leather? I always assumed they’d be cold. I’ll need to investigate. Thank you

I love lined leather gloves, completely toasty.

ChishandFips33 · 24/11/2017 21:28

I have Jobis lined leather gloves from TKMaxx for about £20

Paintbox · 24/11/2017 21:33

I have circulation issues in my hands and find that only mittens keep my hands warm, as each finger helps warm the others. Separating them only makes them colder

BeastOfCraggyIsland · 24/11/2017 21:42

These are fantastic, my pair are 5 years old, worn pretty much every day in the winter and still good as new. This price is a bargain as well: www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/sealskinz-womens-all-season-glove-A6214537.html?colour=124

BeastOfCraggyIsland · 24/11/2017 21:46

If your hands are really freezing a pair of liner gloves will make a difference as well. These are great and stop your hands getting sweaty: www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/icebreaker-glove-liner-A3214206.html?channable=e15806.MzMzNDJfMTI0&colour=124&gclid=CjwKCAiAo9_QBRACEiwASknDwS5mkHrbkdiwLilpAn-XpJ3PJJiZ5oGDkFvm0frYxGr6Si_A1RIPshoCSuoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Leather gloves lined in cashmere. Silk inner liners can add warmth. I like Dents gloves and make sure they cover your wrists. I hate freezing gaps between coat and gloves!

motmot · 24/11/2017 22:49

I have cashmere lined leather gloves which are beautiful and are fine if it's a bit nippy. When I'm dog walking or defrosting the car or generally spending time in the proper cold I find only liner gloves (I have a wool pair) and ski mittens do the job. Mittens generally are a lot warmer but you can do naff all with your hands!

JaceLancs · 25/11/2017 00:41

Cashmere lined leather gloves are the best for me
Try dents or John Lewis or even tkmaxx I have just bought an amazing grey pair from tk for £24.99 in my size too!!!

Nyancat · 25/11/2017 07:52

I wear either cashmere wrist warmers/fingerless gloves from m&s years ago or leather gloves for less cold days and sheepskin mittens for really cold days. The sheepskin are definitely better of the two for keeping hands warm.

yikesanotherbooboo · 25/11/2017 08:14

Totally agree with everyone: lined leather gloves for normal everyday and work. Your hands are still operational! I have Dents .
For deepest winter and snow days mittens are the warmest but you have to keep taking ng them off to use your fingers which can defeat the object.

rubybleu · 25/11/2017 08:48

Lined leather gloves - I prefer fleece lined ones. Leather gloves are terrific as they’re windproof.

Mulberrysilk · 25/11/2017 08:51

Another vote for M&S leather gloves.

NameChange30 · 25/11/2017 08:57

I have some cashmere lined leather gloves from John Lewis that are very warm. I find them a bit bulky (not as much as fleece or wool gloves) so if it's not freezing I prefer an older pair of silk lined leather gloves.

For my next pair I have my eye on these.

Longislandicetee · 25/11/2017 10:21

M&S cashmere lined leather gloves. Fantastic for keeping you warm and reasonably priced too for what you get.

Claywrangler · 25/11/2017 10:40

M&S leather gloves here too. The large size is just right for me and they last for ages (still buy other colours though!) For everyday use I think they are perfect.
Maybe we should have a 'things M&S are good at thread'?

ginghamstarfish · 25/11/2017 10:42

Oh yes, another vote for warm lined leather - waterproof, windproof and very warm. Me and DH are currently wearing ones from Home Bargains - really good and about £7.99 I think

ChesterFuckingDraws · 25/11/2017 13:10

Lots of M&S love. DH reminded me he’s bought me some M&S leather gloves last year that I’ve never worn Blush so I’ll need to hunt them out and save my poor freezing hands

Try Amazon for fur lined gloves or M&S cashmere lined leather gloves - pricey but so worth it - a great investment.
