What shoes with slim cut trousers?

Sundaylazybones · 24/11/2017 06:13

I tend to wear slim/skinny trousers but because my calves are so skinny, from the knee down they are a little baggy so I'm struggling to get shoes that look ok.
Ankle boots over the top look daft as the trousers are a little baggy, but too skinny to go under the boots.

Any ideas? Ballerina flats are too cold now!

What about a shoe boot? They look good with a skinny Smile

TotemIcePole · 24/11/2017 06:34

Brogues with plain/fishnet popsocks

Although I am boring & cold/old , I would probably wear my ugg chelsea boots (fur lined) or converse with legwarmers Blush

Topnotes · 24/11/2017 06:50

Yes I have same issue, watching for suggestions too!

Doublejeopardy · 24/11/2017 07:01

I wear Chelsea boots?

NancyJoan · 24/11/2017 07:04

Brogues or loafers.

BigGreenOlives · 24/11/2017 07:09

I’d roll up the trouser leg so it came to just above my ankle bone & wear neat fitting ankle boots or brogues. I have pop socks with small colored printed flowers for days when I want to look snazzy.

QueenAravisOfArchenland · 24/11/2017 07:11

I second loafers or brogues. If you don't lik the sock look (I don't) you could wear knee-highs under the trousers for warmth.

TatianaLarina · 24/11/2017 07:41

Slim fitting Chelsea boots.

Or have you checked out the new sock boots?

They are slim enough to go under skinnies.

I'd fold up the hem so it cut right on the ankle bone and wear with brogues or ankle boots so a little sliver of skin shows.

Kitsharrington · 24/11/2017 07:46

I mean fold up inside (or sew), not outside so you are left with a cuff.

Mulberrysilk · 24/11/2017 08:44

I'm having the same issue. I'm thinking of having the legs taken up slightly to 7/8 length and wearing them with shoe boots or sock boots. That way the leg should hang straight and not buch at the ankle.

CountFosco · 24/11/2017 09:14

I wear brogues and snazzy socks with ankle skimming trousers, keeps my ankles much cozier than popsocks.

Your trousers look too long, if you took them up a bit they'd look better.

Sundaylazybones · 24/11/2017 14:08

I agree with pp that I need to fold them under to make shorter - good idea.
Sick boots would work as the trousers just ride up on anything.

Maybe slightly heeled loafers could work with pop socks? I need the height bring teeny

Mid heeled ankle suede boots. There are some super ones around. Not ones like uggs though. Classic styled ones. Chelsea boots. Brogues or trainers. Loafers. I wear all the above with my skinny trousers. I think high heels would work but maybe for evening. Not a fan of shoe boots. The trousers do need to be a tad shorter.

Kitsharrington · 24/11/2017 15:22

Something like this would be nice with a slightly cropped leg length www.carashoes.co.uk/item.asp?id=4760

Intomyarms · 24/11/2017 16:26

They are too long! Shorten them, they will look a lot better. Try brogues or loafers.

Sundaylazybones · 24/11/2017 16:38

I'm definitely going to shorten them, I did feel a bit frumpy in them to be honest.
Just need to find some ankle boots which aren't high in the leg now

This might be another option? (if it isn't too wet/cold).

Sorry I can't link it.

Thursdayis · 25/11/2017 08:11

They look nice but I get really cold so need something that doesn't flash as much flesh

Thursdayis · 25/11/2017 08:12

I'd try Ankle Boots op. I have some low ones if you are anything like me wear with pop socks

moonmaker · 25/11/2017 09:14

I wear petite fit trousers so there is no extra length at all and either Chelsea boots , shoe boots or low heeled loafers .

Sundaylazybones · 25/11/2017 11:17

I'm trying to find some low/mud heeled loafer type shoes but struggling

OP posts:
moonmaker · 25/11/2017 23:04

Op, I'm not usually a fan of Clark's but the pair that I do have are from there. They often have a selection of low / mid heeled loafers .
