Early twenties - what do you wear for work?

I’m 23 but short and have a baby face and often mistaken for a 16 year old. I really struggle with smart workwear, I look like a child dressing up in my mum clothes in a suit. I can’t find a dress that doesn’t too look frumpy or like I’m going on a night out. I’m stuck in a rut of just cigarette pants and a blouse Sad what do you all wear to look smart but stylish too?

Can I point you in the direction of the Daily Telegraph who did a fashion update for workwear on 23 October. It’s online and the ideas are great. Some of the clothes are expensive but there are high street alternatives if you like the more expensive clothes. Some are very reasonable though.

I'm late 20s but tend to avoid structured officewear.

I wear skinny trousers and blouses, stretchy pencil skirts with soft tops. Most of my blazers are softer waterfall style. I love jersey dresses too. They work with tights and boots too when it'd chilly.

Dorothy Perkins have got some gorgeous knitted dresses that would look great with heeled ankle boots.

I really like wearing A line skirts with a plain long sleeve top and blazer. Current fave is this one but also have a plain black one from ASOS that I wear with a stripy monochrome top, and a faux leather one from Topshop that's great with a chunky jumper. On the look out for a velvet one in the sales.

These have been a recent favourite, reworn repeatedly with red, navy and greys jumpers/tops.

I am also really liking pinafore dresses at the moment with thin roll necks underneath. Also loving leather pencil skirts with roll necks.

I think textures can make a difference in still looking your age and not frumpy.
