Help - i really dont know what to wear!

I dont go out that often! Next weekend is OH birthday and we are going into a nearby city for drinks. Hoping to go to a few winke/cocktail bars.
Trouble is im so out of touch i dont know what to wear!
I do have a nice fitted dress, knee length and lacy at the top , navy blue, wondered about gold heels/bag with it being near xmas?
Is this too dressy? We will be going out about 3pm and home 9ish, so should it be more casual?

Sounds lovely! I love navy and gold together. If you're worried about glamming up too early, could you take gold shoes/jewellery in your bag and put them on early evening?

I could, i would just need a big bag though, instead of a little clutch bag.

You get all sorts of different styles in cities nowadays, personally I’d go casual / glam - jeans or skinny trousers and nice top?

Can you book a hotel and make a night of it?? Nip back and get changed then back out?

I probably will end up with trousers! Bought the gold shoes already have gold bag, so something to go with gold would be good.
