How do I choose a hair colour?

I’m on a bit of a mission to get out of a rut and make myself a more stylish and “maintained”. I’d like to get some colour put in my hair (although nothing that needs regular maintenance - I have neither the time or patience for regular hairdresser visits!) to give myself a bit of a lift, but I’ve NO idea what to go for. How do I know what suits me?! I’m rubbish at choosing foundation colours etc and have no idea what to ask for. Help!

Can you post a pic and block out most of your face so we can see what we are working with

If you have long hair balaygae is good as the most grown out the more balayage it looks so minimal maintenance.

I’m by no means expert in this area. My hairdresser had a good look at my existing colour to see what shades make it up (have black haired mother and blond father and red head grandmother). So my hair looks very dark brown from a distance iyswim.

Hairdresser chose one of the blondes and one shade lighter than my brown. The blondes went in a few foils in a t section and the brown was painted on with a brush to cover grey at the temples.

It’s worked really well and looks for natural as I don’t get obvious roots showing through. Have only had it done twice this year.
