50th birthday

What do I wear to a 50th? And I'd like to also use this for Fri Dec live music pub event. I'm mid 40s, dark hair, Size 14, hate my legs, and have no fashion sense

Live music in the pub- jeans and a nice top, eg like the picture. A 50th birthday party, sounds like a much more dressy occasion- nice dress or smart trousers and blouse (depends on time of day and type of party etc).
