M&S of its customer/s.

Are they getting the message?

I like the look of the green dress if it's the silk kimono they are talking about. But so much of what they make is synthetic.

KittyB52 · 16/11/2017 21:29

Just the one? Grin This, along with a red ‘lip’, can get in the sea.

Much as I like sleeves, the clothes illustrating the article are pretty awful.

PickAChew · 16/11/2017 21:37

Sleeves are there to keep my arms warm. I like a sleeve that I can roll up out of the way when not getting sleeves wet or dirty trumps sleeves keeping my arms warm.

Which is why I've bought nothing more adventurous than jeans and socks from them for about 2 years, now, and the last pair of jeans got sent back. Oh, I did buy that lovely soft grey Alexa Chung sweater, last year. It survived 4 very gentle wool washes before being chucked because it had shrunk so much that it was as small as my 10yo's tops.

I think I'm the only one who loves shopping in M&S, I get face creams, bath oils, kids clothes, wrapping and cards, undies, tights, vests, jeans, more boring tops, comfy shoes and a classic coat. Not forgetting the advent calendar.

I must have been born old.

Kochicoo · 16/11/2017 21:45

I love shopping there too! I think loads of shops are full of horrible clothes at the moment so M&S is no worse than most places but better than lots, especially this year!

WipsGlitter · 16/11/2017 21:51

I really like that dress!

Niminy · 16/11/2017 21:55

I saw that article and thought this jacket was really lovely. I can’t wear olive green but if I could (and loads of people can) I certainly would be coveting it.

Actually I was in M&S the other day and saw lots of things that I’d wear. A lovely teal mohair coat, for example, a pair of really nicely cut and made fuschia trousers, some good quality, simple tops in basic colours - all Autograph. The clothes looked much better IRL than they did on the web site. Oh, and dresses with sleeves.

I sometimes wonder what the people who hark back to the golden age of M&S were buying. I can remember it being full of absolutely hideous clothes during the 80s and 90s. Nasty colours, frumpy styles.

Bejazzled · 16/11/2017 22:34

I like a trouser but unfortunately can't find one I like to go with a nice shoe.

Niminy · 16/11/2017 22:59

This, jacket, I meant:

I was in M&S getting my advent calendar last week and saw a gorgeous dress which had a 1960s/70s feel to it and I REALLY wanted it, I also wanted everything in their make up hall and literally could've spent £100s. I did treat myself to some Rosie for Autograph make up (Sour Grapes lipstick) and am blown away by it.
