How to wear a silk shirt

Every time someone on here talks about wearing a silk shirt I think it sounds fabulous, but have never quite mastered the look myself. Can you give me a tutorial, preferably with pictures?!

I’m size 12/14 on top, 14/16 on the bottom. I like slim trousers with long, loose-ish tops, or more fitted tops with wide leg trousers or A line skirts.

Thank you!

No idea but following with interest. I’m trying to put together a smart casual capsule wardrobe and a silk shirt is always recommended on Pinterest!

It think it’s important to make sure it’s not too clingy. Other than that, depending on the style and cut, wear either in or out, possibly unbuttoned with a necklace etc. Or roll up the sleeves for a statement blacelet.

Agree with it not being fitted. I would wear it loose, slightly unbuttoned with a pair of black skinny jeans or if its for an occasion a pair of coated skinny jeans or even leather leggings. Wear a small delicate necklace and thats you! On your feet, depending upon the occasion you could wear heels or ankle boots.

Can anyone link to any nice ones?

I fancy one but suspect I'll buy the wrong kind and look frumpy. All too easy these days Hmm

Withdrawn at poster's request.

I have a figure-skimming (not tight) one in midnight/ink colour from John Lewis that I wear with black or navy skinnies. Really easy to wear and very versatile: I've worn both for work with brogues and blazer and out with heels and necklace.

I have loads. So many I think I may have a problem. My favorites are slouchy Equipment shirts tucked into a high waisted skirt for work. Alternatively, front tucked into a pair of mid/high waisted jeans and the back hanging loose.

I scour ebay for Equipment, or go to Uniqlo - they have lovely silk shirts, but size up as they can be a bit skimpy.

I though Uniqlo's were all 'silk touch' rather than actual silk. Other Stories always have a big selection, I've got a couple from La Redoute but they are not the best and are pretty gappy at the bust (bad button positioning), I just loved the colours (I've got nude and french navy). class="underline">cclid=v308589956-e304-5510-b1a8-e8cecb0b5687&gclid=Cj0KCQiAi7XQBRDnARIsANeLIevv4CfMYnzP79XyxkVfOdTZyM54fguk5PfLHoLjaeB1Yoy17RbIykaAsPpEALwwcB Boden usually have a good selection of silk tops - not all those in the link are 100% silk.

I wear mine tucked into trousers or skirts for work. I'm a short hourglass and find the drapiness of a silk shirt much more flattering than a 'crisp cotton' shirt.
