Do you think this military style jacket is just 'too much'?

Honest opinions please. I love military style jackets and blazers but usually they're not as obvious as this jacket. Do you think it looks ridiculous?

I have a real one and I really love it but everyone stops me to comment on it when I wear it and I find the attention embarrassing so I hardly ever put it on

Kitsharrington · 15/11/2017 20:41

Love it. Do it.

I have last year's jacket. It's not as overstated and it goes with nearly everything. I am small and I really suit structured clothes.

LOVE it. Get it at least to try on! Zara always do great frock coats / military jackets. I have one from last year and may have bought something similar this year

IrenetheQuaint · 15/11/2017 23:02

It's gorgeous, but in practice I would never actually wear it. But SO TEMPTING.

AmeliaFlashtart · 15/11/2017 23:29

My first thought was Adam Ant.

JanetStWalker · 16/11/2017 01:06

I tried the Zara one, looked like the little drummer boy.

GrumpyOldFucker · 16/11/2017 07:03

I’ve tried this Kooples one on and it looks fabulous (apart from having me in it). But 500 quid!!

This is a much better price but I’m not sure if the long line would suit me as much as I’m short.

And for real military jacket porn, have a look at Pinky Laing

I like it.

HighburyHattie · 16/11/2017 09:44

It is sassy. I don’t mind it. I think that one looks a little difficult to style, but it all depends on your style and how often you’d like to wear it (daily/on occasion).

OCSockOrphanage · 16/11/2017 12:36

Love it, but it's the sort of thing you'd have to style with care, or just throw it on over skinny jeans, boots and a jumper. And it's memorable so I'd probably tire of it. Moloh makes similar frock coats in swanky fabrics (at vast expense) but are the sort of thing you'd go back to for events a few times a year every year from your 20s to your 70s. However, as I didn't see them young enough, and am probably not the right shape for most of the garments, I have resisted. The link is to the sale page!

JoJoSM2 · 16/11/2017 12:49

I think it looks like a theatre costume. Like you’ve nicked it from the Nutcracker wardrobes. However, if you’re generally OTT with your dress sense, then you’ll be able to pull it off.

WesternMeadowlark · 16/11/2017 12:55

I love it.

I much prefer items that commit to being a certain style, rather than just being "inspired by", which always seems a bit repressed and conservative to me, even though I know it's probably not.

Provided, as a pp said, you can wear it rather than have it wear you, it would look great.

Starryskiesinthesky · 16/11/2017 17:01
