Lindy Bop: Sizing advice for their fitted/pencil dresses, anyone?

Have been after a classic LBD for ages, retro in style without being 1950's dress-up.

Am really tempted by the Lindy Bop Benita but I know from previous threads their sizing can be inconsistent?
Am not sure whether to go for my usual size 12 or to size up?

Am 5'3, 10st 3lbs, 32DD (actual measurements are 31/37 but 30 bands are too tight). Their size guide has size 12 bust as 36 inches and 14 as 38 so I'm in the middle 🤔.

Want the dress to be fitted, definitely not loose or baggy but the ability to breathe would also be nice Grin.

Any advice?

For the fitted styles I would go up a size. Gorgeous dress!

So I ordered the size 12, it arrived today and it's too big Confused. It gapes really noticeably at the sides of the bust.

Am going to exchange it for a size 10 Shock.

Clearly their sizing charts bear little to no resemblance to the actual sizing!
