Can I please share with you my first mini hoard in years?

Had a baby and lots of stuff on and last few years have been quite hectic.
I've been managing to just top up my basic makeup bag i.e. Foundation, mascara, eyeliner and blush etc whenever I ran out.

Today has been the first day in ages that I got child free and popped to the shops for a bit of Christmas shopping and ended up with some bits for myself! I'm so giddy to try them out!
Not sure if any of it is good as I feel a bit out of the loop but had to start somewhere.

Also got the Amazon beauty box deal thing from DH Grin

How did I do?

Nice loot 😊

CoolCarrie · 15/11/2017 19:10

You did very well. I see Nip & Fab there, and that's a lovely sparkling bag. Enjoy your swag!

Swizzlesticks23 · 15/11/2017 19:11

😍😍😍😍 stuff like this makes me excited and it's not even mine ha

SukiTheDog · 15/11/2017 19:26

Nice haul! I think it’s always lovely having stuff new, in the packaging, to “open”. Enjoy OP.

Serenite · 15/11/2017 21:25

It looks fab! Looks like you got most of your make up updated and even a beauty blender! The revolution palletes are great. And skincare. And gorgeous sparkly bag and eye catching necklace. What's in the big blue box?
I hope you have a lovely evening opening them and get them all set out ready to use in the morning - if you're anything like me, it's not the buying but actually using new products that I'm bad at. So I hope no matter what you're doing tomorrow you have your new make up on and you feel brilliant 😉

WipsGlitter · 15/11/2017 21:26

Love that wee bag!

FGSholdthedoor · 15/11/2017 22:03

The box had all the stuff in the top left corner I can't believe the offer it was on! It's got boujoir lipstick/gloss, Sally Hansen nail vanish, wunderbrow brush and Insta ready Rimmel primer mist all full size plus samples of bio oil, yardley, cetaphil and garnier clay masks. DH said it was something silly like 14.99 and you get an Amazon voucher to use too?!?!

Other bits are what I picked and yes I can't wait to use them, especially that contour stick!

I'm going to a little gala do event on Saturday hence the sparkly bag (from tk maxx btw).

I've already tried the eye shadows Blush they're fab! Is there any other good pallets from Makeup Revolution?

Wow that's fantastic - all the things in the beauty box are things anyone would use and really nice brands. I've read about that amazon beauty box, was a great offer!
What are you wearing to the do on Saturday? The bag is simply gorgeous, looks like it had an ombré effect

wren23091 · 16/11/2017 05:54

OP, if you can find the Soph palette from Makeup Revolution, it’s amazing. Lots of everyday colours (Matte and shimmer) but some more out-there shades too, really decent quality, and £10 for I think 24 shades?!?! I’ve adored mine, but since I got my copy my local Superdrug has been constantly out of stock! Massively recommend though 😊

FGSholdthedoor · 16/11/2017 10:55

@wren23091 I've seen the section in Superdrug and it had the 'soph' picture on but the shelf was empty!
I also had a look at a sample palette with a glitter lid, I think it was called life on the dance floor? I really liked the one with the gold lid but they were all out too

@Serenite it does have an ombré effect! I looked at a sparkly light glitter one and there was also a metallic dark one and then I spotted this and I thought it will go with most things (hopefully).

I'm very pregnant at the moment so a little limited to what I can wear and didn't want to spend a fortune on something I'll only wear one time so I've got a black maternity dress (ebay) just above the knee with long sleeves and black soft velvet heels from primark that I picked up, they didn't have a huge selection as I didn't want to go flat but also didn't want sky high heels as I'd break my neck I'm them with the bump. I'm also a bit self conscious about my ghostly white legs so I picked up some hold ups from primark but not sure which ones I'll wear yet.

I'm hoping to wear it with the sparkly bag and silver accessories (and the new makeup!).

This is the dress but obviously there will be a very large baby bump filling the space where the creases are Grin

That dress is perfect and the bag is so unusual it will add more glamour. Love the sound of the velvet heels too, there are lots of velvet shoes around this year and I love them, think they look great in. I hope you have a great evening and enjoy getting glammed up!!

LemonysSnicket · 16/11/2017 13:03

:○ my wunderbrow brush was a tenner on its own !!

FGSholdthedoor · 16/11/2017 16:19

@LemonysSnicket I know I saw one on Amazon for £6.95 the other day so I really don't know how they managed to do that beauty box at that price Confused plus you get 14.99 to spend on Amazon Beauty so it's effectively free????

OyWithThePoodles · 16/11/2017 16:27

Lovely! I like the Fortune Favours the Brave palette from Revolution - good mix of safe neutrals with more fun experimental colours and I like the quirky names.

FGSholdthedoor · 16/11/2017 16:29

I've looked at that one too! Just seemed it had a lot of glittery ones in and I very very rarely use glittery eyeshadow. I did like the flawless matte 2 one which I'm considering getting .

dramallamakarma · 16/11/2017 16:31

Ooh exciting. What’s nip & fab? Do I NEED some?

FGSholdthedoor · 16/11/2017 16:33

And don't mean to be derailing my own thread here but would anyone be so kind to advise me which ones of these would go better with the dress I've got picked out?

I went for black as I wanted it to slim down my calves a bit as they're a bit swollen and yucky ATM.

Attached pic of shoes I'm wearing too.

OP posts:
FGSholdthedoor · 16/11/2017 16:34

@dramallamakarma I have no idea yet but I'm hoping someone will be along soon to explain!

OP posts:
Serenite · 16/11/2017 17:57

I like the 15 denier backseam ones, add to the glamour and a bit sexy. Those shoes are really classic - I'd never have guessed they were from primary! I must get a run into primary soon.
Again, not to derail the thread, did anyone see/get the Minnie Mouse heels primark were doing? I thought they were so cute but forgot about them till OP mentioned primark shoes
