Anyone heard of "Poivre Blanc" coats?

I picked up what looked like a bargain in TK Maxx earlier - a Poivre Blanc long padded coat for £80 with the RRP on the label as £230.

I’ve never heard of them before - a quick google seems to say it is ski wear .... I really need a coat that is properly waterproof (rather than just water repellent) but the label on this one isn’t clear and I can’t find the particular coat online. The label attached to the coat looks generic to the brand, rather than specific to the coat so although it mentions waterproof, I’m not convinced it really is. It’s a padded down-filled style coat and the outer fabric feels silky rather than anything waterproof (but then I’ve never had a coat worth £200+ so maybe it’s some magic technical fabric I’ve not come across before!)

I will keep trying to find it online to see if I can confirm it’s waterproof-ness or not but in the meantime I just wondered if anyone had any knowledge or experience of the brand?

Thanks

They're a well known (posh) ski brand - very popular with the French. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't waterproof as pretty much all their stuff is designed for the outdoors.

Looks like you got a bargain there! heads to the nearest TK Maxx quickly

Ooh that sounds positive! I wonder how I can check it’s definitely waterproof?

Try contacting the company, email with a photo of the coat.

If you go to [www.poivre-blanc.com] they have an archive of last season and you can click on the pics for garment spec. There is a long padded coat on there (W16-1207-WO) but it is only water repellent. Does that help?

Link fail www.poivre-blanc.com

Managed to find it online and it says water repellent rather than waterproof, so no good for me. What a shame Sad

It’s THIS one, if anyone was curious.

They stock it in snow and rock . It's a posh ski brand as someone has said . Good bargain there !!!
