Talk to me about diamond earrings, please!

I've recently had a promotion and pretty decent pay rise at work and would like to reward myself with some diamond earrings for Christmas.

However, I don't own any fancy jewellery and know nothing about diamonds apart from the fact that people say high street jewellers are overpriced!

Any recommendations or ideas on where to go? I was thinking 0.3 carrots and would like decent quality diamonds...but would only like to spend around £500 though budget is flexible if I fall in love :)

The diamonds in cheaper jewellers are exactly the same as high end, you pay over the odds for service, a glass of prosecco and the whole “shopping experience”.

Where are you based? Birmingham’s jewellery quarter is usually good for a bargain.
