Anyone have Raynaud’s that can recommend gloves? I’ve been in so much pain today :(

I live in sheepland boot slippers all year round but they also do gloves, mittens, fingerless sheepskin gloves, which I haven't seen anywhere else, and leather gloves lined with microfibre. Really rate them, their slippers are way better than uggs |IMHO.

Maybe I should have linked...... gloves page but worth looking at the other stuff too

Ooh thank you fandangley!

Not a sufferer myself, but it does run in my family. My hands are usually very cold and the only thing that works for me is leather or sheepskin, until I tried the North Face ones mentioned by a pp.

My sister, who is diagnosed, uses leather too, with a thermal liner. I don’t think my mother or my aunts ever found anything that helped.

Aircon triggers mine, too, and I've never found any gloves that work for me (have tried everything, too - sheepskin, thermal, down, multiple layers, etc.). I tend to use those chemical hand warmer packets and then just keep my hands in my coat pockets. This morning I ordered a rechargeable hand warmer (that doubles as a backup phone battery?!) and am hoping that's a better option.

I absolutely hate having this, though. When my fingers go white it takes ages for them to get back to normal even if I run them under hot water - forget standing on the tube for an hour!

helpmum2003 · 17/11/2017 20:15

I agree that having a warm core helps. The M and S heatgen long sleeve thermals are fab. Definitely mittens as well. And wrist warmers.

FairfaxAikman · 17/11/2017 21:27

Thisfalseinsight even better are charcoal hand warmers.* Thing with chemical and rechargeable ones is once they are done, they are done.*
With a charcoal one you tip out the ash and light a new charcoal rod.* They also get far hotter I find.*

helpmum2003 · 17/11/2017 21:46

@FairfaxAikman could you recommend a brand for those? I get through a lot of disposables which isn't good..... Thanks!

helpmum2003 · 17/11/2017 21:48

Although would I get the same warmth from them with gloves on assuming the warmer is in your pocket? I have a disposable in each hand between wrist warmer and glove....

FairfaxAikman · 17/11/2017 22:00

Help there’s no particular brand, any holder is as good as the next - it’s the quality of the charcoal that makes the difference.**

Alternatively I hear the Zippo ones filled with lighter fluid are good but haven’t used one.**

Yes! I had it today!

And Yes! ASDA is bloody freezing all year round!

Loving the Heat Holders website. Have sent a link to DH for Xmas ideas :)

Am wearing two pairs of socks, a vest, heatgen leggings, long-sleeved top and jumper - minimum of three layers on top each day now til about April :) I find a slight heel on boots in the winter helps keep enough of my foot off the cold floor and two pairs of thin socks rather than a thick pair.

I need to find a new winter coat, but I love the storm cuffs in my current one so much that can't find anything that matches up to it but know how much warmer my hands are with them. I also converted to mittens last year and they do make such a difference! Do feel like a child though :D A warm child though.....

helpmum2003 · 17/11/2017 22:15

Yes it's certainly hard to look sophisticated in full protective gear!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

I will not say that these gloves are the best, but I have used them, and they are made for winter. And it is very comfortable and soft.
They have a thick texture, they are designed to provide maximum comfort when performing activities such as writing and holding objects. you can check out: www.draper-of-glastonbury.com/collections/womens-sheepskin-gloves
