Freezing office!!

Please can I have suggestions of smart/casual office wear for someone who is always cold/freezing (!) TIA

Start with thermal undies (long sleeve vest at the least) - either silk or merino depending on how freezing the office is.

Do you have any recommendations Sadik?

I've got John Lewis silk thermals - not cheap, but I've had them for years & they come out every winter.

I can't wear wool, but Finisterre do merino wool vests which friends speak very highly of.

I'm wearing a smart grey poncho over most outfits. Works quite well.

Scarf does wonders - a nice silky one around the neck tied kindof boyscout style, keeps the drafts out of your neckline.
Merino wool knit dress (I always have one on the go every year).
Uniqlo heat-tech tops or similar layered under other clothes.
Knee-high boots.
Woollen cardis and jumpers are usually quite a bit warmer than acrylic.
Make sure you're warm when you arrive - hat/gloves.
I keep a woollen blankety wrap thing on the back of my chair, it goes over my knees very occasionally (like today). In extremis I wear it over my shoulders.
My colleague has an electric lap-blanket!!!

My boss is one of these people with a really screwed up sense of temperature. He's also got the desk next to mine and to the A/C controls. I'm therefore a pro:

• Skiing underwear is your friend!
• Naice skiing underwear (preferrably worn over a set of less naice skiing underwear) worn under a blazer is indistinguishable from a normal top - buy 2-3 sizes up so the fir is not that snug

Agree about wool as first choice although I have just brought some M&S Heatgen long sleeved tops, which contain cotton. Toasty warm. I suspect the leggings would be good if you wear trousers- unless you do skinnies. Thermal tights with dresses or skirts.
I also used shawls as well - have a collection in various colours. Wear them instead of scarves as well and have been known to have one across my shoulders and one across my lap!!
Fingerless gloves.

Laura Ashley has various boiled wool cardigan/soft jackets that would be smart enough for a lot of offices. They are actually very soft and very warm. I would not normally shop there as i consider it generally not my style but these are good

My lifesaver is sheepskin insoles for my boots - I find if my feet are warm the rest of me is too.

Get thee to uniqlo and stock up on their heat tech stuff, the scoop neck tops are like get and can be worn under anything. I wear them most days. Also online if not near a shop.

Second vote for fleece lined tights, Primark do them too. Life changing!
And I like m&s thermal long sleeve t's, they layer almost invisibly under blouses or fine knit sweaters.
