Cocktail dress

I've put on a bit of weight recently and just realised I can't squeeze into my 'posh frock'.

I've an event this coming weekend and need a new one. Thinking black (although could be easily persuaded to wear colour), cocktail type rather than ballroom. I'm short, with a big bum, tum and boobs. Size 14. In my 40s
and suddenly realise I have no idea of where to go for this type of dress or what's in fashion (not having many posh events to go to).

No chance to get to the shops now so would welcome any suggestions and links so I can order some possibles tonight and have time to try a range on. Budget of around £200.

Hit me with your suggestions please...

I would suggest v neck or scoop neck with some kind of wrap or ruching in skirt area or flaring out gently from under bust. If I don't want to feel completely unfashionable my go to is ASOS.

Do you like you arms?

Coast

Hi

farine · 12/11/2017 18:26

My arms aren't perfect but I'm not generally bothered by them - more concerned about my bum and tum!

Like v neck dresses a lot.

The ted baker one might be a little bit short for me but main dislike is the zip in the back - I have a thing against them!
