Help me break free of suits! What else can I wear to work? (Plus size)

I need to go to a client meeting. Usually I'd wear a suit, probably from Next but I'm sick of suits!

But I'm clueless as to what else to wear! Smart usually = suit to me but it's getting a bit boring.

I like wearing trousers. I have a massive spare tyre tummy so although I like dresses usually often don't suit me if at all figure hugging. I can't wear tops that stop at the waist.

Any ideas gratefully received!

MrsSchadenfreude thanks but I can't wear anything with a waist - the Pheobie and Margot are out.

I'm seriously the shape of someone 8 months pregnant. I can't do waists.

The Simply Be suits my shape much more in terms of where it comes in - just under the bust. In the same vein, can get away with empire line dresses.

But - that desss is too much cleavage for a work thing. I have enormous boobs and dresses that look absolutely fine on smaller chested women look obscene on me! V shaped necks suit me but I don't want to be showing any actual cleavage at all really.

So, I went into town. I've done Next, Monsoon, TK Maxx, M&S and a quick looked round Debenhams as it was closing. Nothing. Tried on loads of stuff in TK Maxx but it looked awful on.

Then popped into Asda for a treat for 4yo DD (she was with me for Next & TK Maxx and did really well) and came away with two blouses from the sale for £3.50 each! One of them might do if I can find something to go with it in time.

DD got an awesome pair of winter boots from TK Maxx. (Could have spent a fortune on her in there very easily!)

Gah. I've got loads of prep to do tomorrow and Monday, I don't want to be shopping

Feel free to tell me how awful you think they are! But here's the sum total of my shopping trip!

They both look better in RL (honest!). The shape in a 20 is flattering, it suits me. It covers my tum well. It's hard to find stuff that suits my shape and these do. Plus they were £3.50 each!

The rust one I might wear at some point over Christmas. The black and white one I might wear to the meeting if I can find a jacket to go with it. It's not ideal but I need to wear something and I'm running out of options fast!

I like the black and white one. I like the colour of the rust one, but not the frill - I'd feel as if it would make my chest look even bigger!

I don't have a waist either, but I prefer to wear something reasonably fitted that gives the illusion of a waist. The Phoebe dress really just has a seam at the waist, it doesn't go in much at all. I can't wear empire line dresses at all - they make me look huge and pregnant, as there is just too much fabric, although they look good on other people who are a similar shape to me!

Love the black and white one ladybird (might pop to Asda tomorrow and have a look). I’ve also got a tum that needs covering.

Do you need a jacket? Could you just wear the blouse with a black skirt or trousers and some smart shoes or boots?
