Am looking for some new winter trainers- have Converse for summer but need something more 'winter-proof' - any ideas please before I go off and buy more biker boots...

I like Nike for everyday wear. Have just purchased these (keeping them for birthday/Xmas present though): store.nike.com/gb/en_gb/pd/air-zoom-structure-21-running-shoe/pid-11827453/pgid-12170036

They’re proper running shoes hence price (although some of the fashion ones I’ve seen are similarly priced, and not nearly as comfortable)., and I also got them half price, so not quite as eye watering.

I’ve also got a pair of black Stan Smiths.

Stan Smiths. I have these, Converse, Gazelles and Nike Internationalist and the Stans keep my feet dry and warm; much more so than the others.

Another vote for Stan Smiths. Proper leather trainers, much better at keeping out the rain than suede or fabric.

+1 for Stans. Adore mine. Have two pairs in slightly different styles. Love em.

Definitely Stan Smiths! I have fleece insoles in mine. So warm.

I’ve just bought some lovely pebbled leather converse - hoping they will be more durable than the canvas

I wear outdoor approach shoes such a Salomon, Keen, Five Ten.
